Custom Rehab Week 6

Now that I’ve finished the flooring on the first floor, I’ve moved on to the kitchen. Since the dollhouse has identical left and right walls, I was able to use the original paper template from the living room's left wall to wallpaper the kitchen's right wall. This is a helpful tip; keeping track of templates can save you time in the future.

I also added more trim to the living room. You can see where I plan to add corner trim, starting with the piece in the far left corner. This trim will cover any gaps at the corners caused by the templates. You can choose any type of trim for these corners; there’s no right or wrong choice. It all depends on your personal preference. You might use round dowels, square dowels, or strips of wood in various widths. I placed my trim with the wide side against the side walls, but you could also position it with the wide side against the front wall if you prefer. You can install corner trim before or after adding baseboards and ceiling trim, as I did. Whichever order you choose, just be sure to include corner trim. Avoid trying to cover corner gaps with wallpaper strips or spackle, as these won’t give you a polished finish. Using strip wood is the best option.
