When working on the dollhouse, carefully prepare the staircase before proceeding with other assemblies. Installing the railings can be particularly challenging, as paint and glue can cause small parts to swell, making precise fitting difficult. When working with delicate components, be gentle and patient, using a mallet to carefully tap stubborn parts into place.
The front second-floor railing should only be installed after wallpapering the upper floor. When wallpapering, always position the cut edge downward towards the floor, which can be hidden by baseboards. Don't worry about perfect cuts, as trim will conceal any imperfections.
The bay area requires special attention and is best finished separately. Do not install it before wallpapering, as its small size makes it difficult to work around.
Once the first floor is completely wallpapered, you can install the second floor's back edge piece. Rather than struggling with tiny slots that may have become too small from primer and wallpaper, simply trim one end to fit and use binder clamps to secure it in place.
Finally, ensure that you have thoroughly completed the staircase assembly before moving forward with other aspects of the dollhouse.
