Today, I added the side wall sign to the dollhouse, using two-pound weights to hold it in place while securing it.
I have started shingling the roof and decided against using templates. While templates create precise angles, they often result in roof corners that require trim to hide imperfect edges. My goal is a seamless, authentic roofline without interruption. To achieve perfectly flush corners, I am meticulously cutting and fitting each shingle individually. This time-consuming process will ensure a clean, uninterrupted roof design. I'm using octagon shingles with a custom top row of hand-cut arrowhead shingles. Though the method is slow, the final result will be worth the extra effort.
For the foundation, I created a unique stucco finish by mixing spackle and paint. While many dollhouses omit foundations, I appreciate this architectural detail and wanted to include one on this project.
