When you side a dollhouse, the corners often have rough edges that need to be covered with trim. Not all dollhouse kits include corner trim, especially if they don’t come with siding. If you choose to side your dollhouse, you'll need to purchase trim separately. I find inexpensive balsa wood strips at craft stores and create my own L-shaped trim for the corners, which is cost-effective compared to the high prices of miniature lumber at specialty stores.
The dormers also require significant work on the exterior to look right. You need to fill in all the gaps with spackle and paint everything properly. I use a fine-tip brush for the detailed work.
