The Beacon Hill Dollhouse Day 10

Wallpapering the bay windows in a dollhouse presents unique challenges due to the complex angles. The installation requires careful planning and precise execution. I began by wallpapering the bay windows first, ensuring I had enough special-ordered paper to complete the entire project. I carefully cut and measured each section, leaving extra material to wrap around corners for a clean finish.

While the wallpaper dried, I prepared the window pieces. I sanded and painted all sides, starting with the window sills. The installation process was intricate, requiring patience and precision. I installed the bottom sills first, working from the inside and trimming them to fit flush against the walls. Using clamps and binder clips, I secured the sill layers together.

As the bottom sills dried, I worked on the window casings and exterior trims. The casing installation was particularly challenging, requiring careful handling to avoid damaging the delicate bay walls. I made sure the casings were completely dry before installation and used gentle tapping to position them correctly.

After installing the casings and exterior trims, I focused on spackling. This delicate process involved filling gaps both above and below the sills. I used creative techniques like the tip of a paint brush to reach narrow spaces, ensuring a smooth, professional finish. The final steps involved touch-up painting and adding interior trims.

I worked methodically, completing one bay at a time to avoid feeling overwhelmed. Some minor trimming was necessary to achieve a perfect fit. I added decorative wooden skewers between the windows for a subtle color variation and planned additional spackling to refine the gaps.
