I completed siding the area between the tower wall and roof, then began installing windows on the second floor. Having built this dollhouse before, I knew the process would be straightforward.
I modified the window installation slightly. Instead of adding a bottom interior window sill, I created an exterior top trim. I also glued the shutters to overlap the windows, giving them a movable appearance. The window casings were remarkably easy to install, sliding smoothly into their openings without requiring a mallet. However, they can fall out if not secured with interior and exterior trim. Installing the window sills required more care due to the existing siding. To prevent damaging the siding, I pressed down on each strip while sliding in the sills. Using an Emery board to slightly widen the sill slots helped. Despite the careful process, the result was worth it - the windows looked neat and perfectly positioned over the siding.
I carefully referenced the kit box photo to ensure the sills were installed in the correct orientation, remembering my previous mistake on the first Beacon Hill. After adding some vertical and horizontal trim, I spent most of the day working on the window details.
