Windows
I initially thought this dollhouse didn't include interior window trim, but it actually does. Since this is the Special Edition Kit of the model, your kit may vary in whether it includes the trim. Some interior photos of the dollhouse do not show the trim.
The windows are assembled separately and then fit into the openings on the front wall of the dollhouse. Once installed, they cover the inside edges of the openings, which is why I chose not to paint or finish them.
Assembly
You can assemble the windows away from the dollhouse. You can paint the parts either before or after assembly, but they must be painted before installation. The assembly process is very straightforward. Using a rubber band clamp is a clever method for putting these windows together, and this technique could be useful for similar miniature projects in the future.
Installation
Once the windows are dry, they are ready for installation. I started by installing the interior trims, then added the "glass" panes to the exterior and placed the exterior trim over them. The "glass" is sandwiched between the interior and exterior trims.
The windows snap into place easily, but if you encounter any fitting issues, you can sand the window openings or use a craft knife to trim some wood from the inside edges. I only had this problem with the attic window; the others fit perfectly.
As for the kitchen ceiling, I was fortunate to find silver scrapbook paper with an embossed design that resembles tin, which I used for the kitchen's ceiling.
