Porch
Before starting assembly, ensure that all parts of the porch, including the support pieces, are completely finished. Lay your dollhouse on its back. If the back roof is already attached, let it hang off the table so the dollhouse lies flat. Avoid attempting to build the porch while the dollhouse is upright, as this will not work.
Cabinet-grade dollhouses lack tabs and slots to hold parts in place, so you'll need to rely on gravity. Since there are no tabs and slots for alignment, pay close attention to the instructions for proper placement of the parts. Use measurements and the clapboard siding as a guide to ensure everything is straight.
The porch is built directly onto the dollhouse. Follow the instructions carefully to achieve a proper fit. Use the porch columns temporarily to position the porch supports at the correct height; if these supports are not set correctly, the columns will not fit later. Note that the porch supports are not perfect triangles; they are designed for the porch roof to sit at a slight incline. Before gluing them in place, align your supports with the illustration in the instructions to ensure accurate placement.
After the supports and spacers are dry, install the porch roof while keeping the dollhouse on its back until everything has fully dried. Use this time to finish assembling the remaining porch parts.
