Porch Railing
All pieces must be finished before installation, as they come pre-assembled and pre-cut. Position the porch posts and railings simultaneously to ensure everything is square and properly spaced. The tops of the posts should fit under the porch supports. To maintain the correct space underneath the railings, use a piece of gingerbread for support. Ensure that the railings meet neatly at the corners.
Porch Trim
The porch trim is a bit more challenging. This square dowel piece needs to be cut to size so it fits correctly on the sides of the porch. It should match the length of one side railing piece and a column, so align them together and cut the trim accordingly.
