The Vermont Farmhouse Jr Dollhouse Week 4

Foundation Assembly

The instructions suggest assembling the foundation away from the dollhouse, but I recommend doing it directly on the dollhouse. This ensures that the foundation fits properly on the first floor. To position your dollhouse upside down, place it at the corner of your work table. This allows the side walls to hang off the edges without obstruction.

Assemble the foundation according to the instructions, but you won't be able to attach the long front piece yet; that will need to wait until the dollhouse is turned right side up. Use handheld weights to secure the foundation while the glue dries. Be sure to use masking tape to keep the weights in place and prevent them from rolling off and causing injury if the dollhouse is bumped.

While the dollhouse is upside down, apply wood glue along the joints of the walls and ceilings. You won't be able to do this on the sides of the floors since they will already be finished. This is also a good time to prime the ceilings and walls once the glue has dried completely, protecting your floors from any paint drips.
