The Tennyson Dollhouse Day 6

After completing the staircase, I can now appreciate its appearance. The dollhouse kit didn't include interior door trim, but I crafted my own using balsa wood and added crystal bead doorknobs.

I painted the dollhouse's exterior and interior window edges. While some prefer matching window edge and trim colors, I chose to paint the edges to match the wall, creating a more layered and detailed look. Installing the side door helped me visualize the overall color scheme.

The door trim remains unpainted and is currently dry fitted. The door trims are complex, with double-layered pieces designed to overlap precisely. Because the trim lengths aren't exact, some custom cutting will be necessary. The window trim installation differs from the box illustration. The kit parts and instructions are specifically designed for the window trim shown in my pictures. I recommend carefully following the instructions and dry fitting windows on a flat surface before final installation. The dollhouse trim can be confusing, but the instructions provide clear guidance.

When installing doors, expect to do significant sanding. A palm sander can help expedite this process. It's crucial to paint each door and window part thoroughly on all sides, including surfaces that will be glued, as edges might be visible through windows.
