The Sugarplum Cottage Dollhouse Day 7

This dollhouse is simple to shingle because it has few roof angles. You can use materials like twine, faux fur, or coconut fiber, but I'm using regular dollhouse shingles. I created paper templates like I did for other dollhouses and hot melt glued the shingles to them. I chose an alternating pattern of square and fish scale shingles, turning the fish scale shingles upside down to resemble squares.

Since this dollhouse lacks roof trim, I used dowels for the edges at the top. I saved two heart punch-outs from the porch settees for later use. They will serve as finials for each roof peak. However, since there are three peaks and only two hearts, I cut out a third heart from a piece of wood using one of the hearts as a template. It was challenging, but with patience and sharp scissors, I managed to do it.

After that, I touched up some paint and added more trim to the back of the dollhouse on the two side walls.
