The Fairfield Dollhouse Revisited Week 13

Before assembling the first floor staircase, I created templates of its parts on thin cardstock. Initially, I casually considered using these templates to recreate the staircase for the second floor - a vague idea I didn't seriously expect to accomplish. However, I ultimately succeeded.

Using the cardstock templates as a precise guide, I carefully cut the staircase pieces from balsa wood and assembled them exactly like the first floor staircase, finishing it in the same manner. I then installed the new staircase in the second floor hallway, noting that it still requires railing - a task I'll complete after installing the third floor.

The process demanded considerable effort, and while the staircase isn't absolutely perfect, it seamlessly matches the dollhouse. By crafting it myself, I avoided the expensive cost of a pre-assembled staircase, and the result looks so professional that it appears to be an original kit component. The satisfaction of creating it entirely by hand is particularly rewarding.
