I prefer to avoid challenging tasks, so I will work on the ceilings of this side of the dollhouse before tackling the staircase issue. The best way to work on the ceilings is to turn the dollhouse upside down. However, since this model has a chimney that sticks out, that's not easy to do. I used a small wastebasket to hold the chimney, allowing me to keep the dollhouse upside down.
I applied ceiling paper in the hallway and kitchen, but I chose a shiny metallic paper for the bathroom ceiling. Keep in mind that these textured papers are difficult to patch, so make paper templates of your ceilings to guide your cuts. While you're at it, you can install ceiling trim in rooms that already have wallpaper and touch up any visible paint from this angle.
