I finished the fireplaces with the mantels and hearth floors. I also trimmed the floors with baseboards made from strip wood. It took a lot of spackle and detailed paint touch ups for everything to look good.

The inside edges of the doorways have to be sanded, spackled, sanded again and then painted, so they do not appear rough on the hallway side.
