The Emerson Row Dollhouse Day 2

After you go over all of your joints with wood glue and the glue begins to dry, slowly begin removing all of your masking tape. Leave areas that required more pressure for last. Then just let all of the glue dry on your joints. Remember that in order to apply the glue to every joint you will have to position the dollhouse on its side, right side up and upside down. Just make sure you cover all joints.

As the glue dries, you can assemble the front and basement doors. Set them aside as they dry and be extra careful with the front door because it has a window and acetate windows scratch very easily.

Once the glue has dried, you can finish taking off all of the masking tape from the dollhouse and apply your wall color. Make sure you paint the inside edges of all doors and windows. After the first coat dries, you can go ahead and sand, spackle all tabs and gaps and apply a second coat of paint.

Since nothing is holding the floors straight because there are no partitions or staircase in the middle of the dollhouse, you can use masking tape to make sure they don’t warp in the middle. My third floor happens to have a slight bulge in the middle so I’ve clamped it to the base floor to make it straight for now.

After the paint is dry, you can glue on the Window Seats. Clamp them well on the back sides.

Next apply the Bay Walls. Start with the middle wall first because this will help align the tabs for the other walls. Use a rubber mallet to tap them in.

Clamp the Bay Walls and let dry. Don’t worry about having gaps on them. You're not going to do anything about that right now. You need to wallpaper next and after that’s done, we will hide all the Bay Wall gaps.
