I finished the interior trim using skinny sticks for the baseboards and skewers for the ceilings. I also applied skewers along the vertical edges of the walls but did not use any for the gable edges since the wallpaper looked so good on its own.
In the attic, I used skinny sticks for the baseboards and to trim the back edges of all the floors and walls. I touched up the paint and filled in all the gaps with spackle.
If your shingle templates had trouble reaching some edges, you can use hot glue to attach shingles and then stain them.
I also found beautiful curtains and flowers for the flower boxes that match the cottage's color scheme. The cottage came with tab-and-slot furniture kits, but I did not use them.
