The Half Scale Chantilly Dollhouse Day 3

Always follow the instructions when building your dollhouse to ensure that the walls and floors fit properly. This dollhouse has many interlocking parts that lock the assembly together, so it’s important to assemble them in the correct order. If you don’t, you may find it difficult to disassemble parts for adjustments.

To interlock the pieces, tilt them sideways to help them slide into place. Since the material is wood, it won’t slide easily, so you’ll need a mallet to gently tap the parts into position. Use just enough force to move them without damaging anything. As you fit the pieces together, make sure to align tabs with slots to prevent snagging. Patience is key here. Working with this smaller half-scale model is likely easier than with a larger one because you can turn it at different angles to help fit the parts. Because the dollhouse hasn’t been painted, fitting the pieces should be easier than if the wood were swollen from moisture.

Keep two important things in mind while assembling this dollhouse. First, only use glue when instructed. Gluing too early and then stopping can make it nearly impossible to complete the assembly, as the dollhouse needs some flexibility for fitting all the walls. Second, be cautious with the mullions; they are fragile and can break easily if pressed against while fitting other parts. Be mindful of where your fingers are when applying pressure.

The main shell assembly of this dollhouse allows access to all areas, so you can fit all walls, including those at the back, without needing to finish any part first. Ensure that you place each wall on the correct side so that the roof can be installed properly later. Use online resources and pictures for guidance.

These little half-scale dollhouses are incredibly cute and detailed!
