The Beacon Hill Dollhouse is a very popular build and even though I have assembled it twice before, I am going to revisit this assembly process for a third time. Many first time builders contact me frequently about optional finishes they would like to use on their dollhouse but are unprepared for what difficulties they might encounter or the best way to proceed. So, in this third assembly I am going to detail some popular finishes and assembly options that others might like to try on their Beacon Hill.
-Applying ceiling paper to all ceilings
-Applying floor covers to all floors (tile, paper, vinyl)
-Hinging of the front and closet doors
-Finishing of the closets interior
-Making the acetate windows stained glass
-Making the tower into an additional room
-Changing the use of the third floor, left, small room by adding a wall and faux door
-Creating a faux marble finish for the fireplaces
-Creating a raised, wooden applique decoration for the interior doors
-Creating copper roofs for the dormers
-Making hinged, moveable dormers
-Customizing a clear back cover
-Adding extra trim and details on the exterior and chimney
-Discussing other alternate assembly options and their pros and cons
The rest of the dollhouse will be pretty much the same as my second Beacon Hill. I will be using the same color scheme and similar wallpaper designs.
