The Westville Dollhouse Day 3

After completing the wallpapering on the first and second floors, I prepared the back walls and attic floor. The back walls, which are hidden from view, were painted to match the ceiling color. While the paint dried, I began attaching the bay foundations and holding bay trims with binder clips. Since the dollhouse will be mostly one color, the trim placement wasn't critical.

I installed the back walls carefully, clamping them tightly and straight. The foundation piece was initially warped, but I discovered that clamping it firmly against other parts would naturally straighten it out. By using plastic clamps, I ensured the piece remained square and would dry in the correct position.

Installing the attic floor required a mallet and careful clamping with masking tape. I made sure to clamp from gable to gable to maintain squareness and checked all joints for proper alignment.

The staircase closet demanded meticulous preparation. I dry-fitted the closet wall, primed and wallpapered the interior and exterior surfaces, and carefully planned the wallpaper edges to ensure seamless coverage. I strategically left slight overhangs to help with precise fitting and used dried wallpaper paste to strengthen the edges. I created a functional door using a chamois hinge, carefully positioning it to allow movement while remaining hidden. A door knob was added to enable easy opening and closing. By leaving wallpaper overhangs and methodically assembling the components, I successfully completed the closet project with clean, seamless results.
