Groove Fill and Staircase Installation
Before installing the staircase, insert the groove fill into the sidewall at the staircase opening. This piece may require sanding to fit properly. Paint the groove fill first to ensure a smooth transition between floor wallpapers.
The staircase comes in two parts that need to be glued together carefully, following the illustration to ensure proper installation. Paint or finish both sides of the staircase, as it will be visible from the front of the dollhouse.
To install the staircase, turn the dollhouse on its side if needed. Apply glue only to the top and bottom of the staircase, avoiding the wallpapered side. Adjust the staircase to fit correctly, with the top resting on the second floor edge.
Front Door and Porch
The kit includes a pre-assembled, operable front door that fits well in its opening. Paint the door in sections, allowing adequate drying time between coats.
The porch floor should be painted and varnished for protection.
Additional Trim
To improve the appearance of visible trim ends at the back of the dollhouse, consider adding quarter-circle pieces made from balsa wood to the back corners. This helps conceal the ends of interior moldings and creates a cleaner look. Alternatively, a special interior molding set can be ordered to address this issue.
