Today, I started assembling the porch foundation, which is the first component that must be assembled in this build. So far, it has been quite straightforward. The instructions clearly indicate the front and back of the foundation.
However, installing the front wall along with foundation parts A and B was a bit more challenging. The instructions suggest dry fitting the two foundation parts to the porch foundation before sliding in the front wall. I decided to slide the front wall onto the porch foundation first and then insert and align parts A and B. This approach worked well, leaving enough space between the parts for glue and clamps during drying.
Tomorrow, I plan to wallpaper this wall before proceeding with the assembly. I intend to wallpaper all my walls beforehand because this dollhouse has many visible support beams inside, making it difficult to wallpaper around them later. While you can stain or paint the support beams to match your decor, I will try wallpapering them to blend in with the walls.
For now, I’ll let everything dry overnight.
