I finished the porch roof today. I added a cameo to the front trim. It's actually a button that happened to be the right size for this area.
I put the fireplaces together. I used a computer brick printout to make the interior backs.
I assembled the chimney.
I put in the dining bay doors.
I assembled the kitchen bay roof.
I glued the chimney on.
I glued on all of the gable trims. Notice that I placed the flat gable trims behind the gingerbread gable trim instead of in front of it. The dollhouse is originally designed for the flat gable trim to be placed flush with the edge of the roof gable and the gingerbread trim right behind it. I did it the opposite way because I want to add a decorative cameo to the top of each gingerbread gable trim and I won't be able to do it if the gingerbread is behind the trim.
I glued on the lattice trim and assembled the front steps.
This dollhouse does not bring trim for the bay areas. It just doesn’t look right plain, so I made my own trims from the punch from scrap pieces of the gable trim and skinny sticks for the sides.
You can certainly trace out these curved bay areas before assembly onto balsa wood sheets. Then you can cut out your own trim from them using a craft knife. If you have the tools to do it, you can use regular 1/8th" thick plywood or basswood sheets as well. There is also foamcore in 1/8th" thickness that can be cut with scissors and will work fine if you paint your trim instead of staining it.
I put the brackets on the tower.
