The Orchid Dollhouse Day 4

I began by priming the dollhouse with matte white acrylic paint. The angled second floor made wallpapering challenging, particularly the dormers.

To wallpaper the dormers, I traced their outline on the patterned side of the wallpaper, ensuring extra width for folding edges. I applied the wallpaper in a specific order - side walls first, overlapping edges for a neat finish, followed by the front triangle piece. After completing the dormers, I wallpapered the rest of the second floor.

For flooring, I used printed designs and medallions. While printies can be convenient, they may be costly for larger scales due to ink usage. I recommend using a local print shop for better quality and value in such cases.

The ceiling proved more difficult than anticipated. I created a plaster-like effect by shrinking a light wallpaper print, but patching was noticeable due to the light color. After wallpapering and installing the ceiling, I glued down the floors with centered medallions.

Finally, I painted the wallpapered dormers and installed the windows, ensuring aligned silk screen patterns. When installing the dormers, I painted the edges to match the wallpaper, as wallpapering these angled sections would disrupt the pattern continuity.
