Now that the tower floor extension is dry, I applied flooring to the hallway, bedroom, and living room. I chose the Greenleaf Dollhouses vinyl wood-look flooring that I really like for tab-and-slot dollhouses. You can find application tips for this flooring in my Dollhouse Flooring Guide.
This vinyl flooring is true to scale, durable, and doesn't require finishing. It won't buckle or warp over time or with moisture, and it can be easily cut with scissors. This makes it perfect for fitting along the intricate designs of tab-and-slot dollhouse floor plans. Although the flooring has a sticky back, I still use tacky glue on each plank. Staggering the planks adds realism.
The fit into the hallway doorway is tight but accessible. The sides of the doorway are completely hidden from view, no matter the angle. With the flooring in place, I can now add the vertical trim to the doorways. I used the same fabric trim on the top arched tower openings as I did for the kitchen bay.
After installing the vertical trim, I added the horizontal trim to all the floors and ceilings.
