The McKinley Dollhouse Week 1

This dollhouse has never been featured on my blog before, and I've been looking forward to assembling one for a while. I found the perfect spot in my house to display it, so now is the right time to get started.

This dollhouse is unique; it resembles a display shelf shaped like a dollhouse that can be hung on the wall. Its design is similar to a Pierce or Garfield Dollhouse, but it's cut in half, allowing the interior to be visible at all times. If you don't have space for one of those larger dollhouses, this one might fit perfectly.

Although it's designed to hang on the wall, this dollhouse is not just a simple box with partitions. Made by Greenleaf Dollhouses, it features 3D depth that creates a realistic floor plan, complete with a staircase, tower, bay window, and porch. I've only seen it fully assembled once, so I'm excited to discover more details as I work on it.

If you're looking to display a collection of miniatures, this dollhouse is an excellent choice. It can easily be electrified or filled with battery-operated lights or LED strips. There's no need to turn the dollhouse around to view its interior, which means the interior finishes must be well done since they will always be on display.

I plan to use many Chrysnbon pieces in this dollhouse but will finish them differently than I did for The Beacon Hill Dollhouse. They will look like entirely different sets; instead of staining, I will paint and upholster them. I found a lovely wallpaper set with a blue and yellow country French color scheme that will inspire the furniture and accessories throughout the dollhouse. I will add vinyl flooring to the interior and plan to side the exterior, likely using a blue and brown color scheme similar to what I used on a previous Pierce Dollhouse.

I checked the kit inventory to ensure everything was complete, and it is. This is a relatively new kit in good condition.
