Take a final look at your foyer, as this is your last chance to see it before changes begin. The front doors need to be installed before the porch can be built. I finished the interior door trim yesterday, and today I just need to stain the doors and complete the top pediments. I glued the baseboards and ceiling trim in place before moving on, as I wouldn't be able to do it later.
It's important to sand your doors thoroughly for a proper fit. Double doors are a bit trickier than single ones. I had to remove about 1/8 inch from both doors to ensure they fit together in the opening, using a handheld sander. Be careful with power sanders on dollhouses; even slight over-sanding can ruin your piece. Take your time and dry fit everything along the way to avoid removing too much material. Once the doors were in place, I added the exterior trim.
