The second-floor staircase features a well-designed bookcase at the back. Despite its more elaborate design, this staircase was easier to assemble than the one on the first floor, and I didn’t encounter the same issues with the top risers.
Start by building the bookcase, which is straightforward. Assemble it with the staircase sides, ensuring that the treads are flush on the right side. Like the first-floor staircase, the flush side should be against the wall. It’s crucial to dry fit the staircase sides to your dollhouse first to avoid mistakes regarding which side should be flush. This step is very important; if you don’t keep the right side flush, the staircase won’t fit properly. Dry fit until you are clear about which side needs to remain flush.
Once the staircase is complete, set it aside while you prime the walls of the shell you built earlier. Avoid staining or painting your staircases until they are completely dry; I recommend waiting overnight. Applying stain or paint too soon can loosen the glue if it hasn't dried thoroughly.
