The hinges I bought are too small for the roof panel, so I don't think they'll work. You might want to visit a hardware store to find hinges that are not too large but also not as tiny as miniature ones. However, I'm unsure how they would fit on this thin plywood.
I've decided to go back to my original plan of using a chamois strip to hinge the panel. This method will allow the panel to open smoothly on the roof, and it will look seamless. Once I add faux fur to the outside of the roof as thatch, the chamois underneath will be hidden. I'm using a chamois that closely matches the thatch color.
I will use the miniature hinges on the staircase closet door and may use them for another door as the assembly continues.
