I filled the flower box with miniature silk flowers, but you can also use small life-scale silk flowers.
Inside, I upholstered the little window seats with fabric in reds, golds, and greens. The fringe I chose was easy to install and worked well for the windows. I added tassels to the edges to prevent fraying. I couldn't find the right color beaded fringe for the staircase opening, so I left it as is for now.
For the window treatments, I used a mix of tacky glue and hot melt glue; hot glue is great for light objects like flowers and tassels. I always glue window treatments to the casings instead of the wallpaper, so I can easily remove them later without damaging the walls.
If I could change one thing, it would be how I applied the glossy, non-porous wallpaper. I used mucilage, which made the paper too wet and prevented it from drying properly, leading to warping and bubbling. For this type of wallpaper, I should have used a glue stick, double-sided carpet tape, or applied Yes Paste very sparingly instead.
