The Half Scale Diana Dollhouse Day 10

Now you can understand why I recommended finishing the interiors of these bays before installing them in the dollhouse. They are quite small, and you might not encounter this issue with the one-inch scale version. I chose to stain my bays to match the staircase and floors since they are too tiny for wallpaper.

After staining, I painted the window mullions inside and out using the same technique I applied to the dollhouse shell windows.

Once that was dry, I started installing the trims. The bays are small, and you need to cut out your windows from the window sheets. Use the trim as a guide for the side windows and the actual window openings for the front ones. Be sure to leave enough space at the edges so you can glue the windows onto the dollhouse. The side windows have square-shaped trim, while the front window trim must be assembled from four pieces provided. This would be very difficult to do with the bays already installed.

Start by installing the side trims for your front window, then add the top and bottom trims. It will get messy. The pieces are very small, and even with a fine tip for your glue, it will likely spread everywhere. Don’t worry—tacky glue dries clear. Just avoid getting any on your window panes, as it will be visible even when clear. Once the glue dries, everything will start to look neat and detailed.
