The Half Scale Chantilly Dollhouse Day 11

All porch parts must be fully finished before installation. The porch is relatively easy to install, but if the roof tabs are problematic, you can trim them down since they are not essential for assembly.

Once you have assembled the porch and completed any touch-ups, you can install the porch floor foundation. While doing this, consider adding glue to all the slots under the dollhouse and reinforcing all joints with glue as well.

I am missing the left side porch foundation piece, and I'm unsure how that happened. From the schematics, it seems this part was never cut from the sheet because it is located within a window scrap. I will need to make my own later.

I installed all the windows except for the round attic window. Due to the mullions, these windows do not allow access into the dollhouse, so it is easier to finish them now, before installing the roof. Start by installing the sills. You will need to tap them into place with a mallet, but be very careful as the mullions are delicate. Lightly tap the sills into place if they don't fit with hand pressure.

Next, install the exterior window trim and then the bottom sill trim. Finally, touch up all the paint on your windows before adding the interior trim with panes.
