The Half Scale Chantilly Dollhouse Day 11

All of the porch parts have to be completely finished before installation. The porch is pretty easy to install but if the top, porch roof tabs gives you a problem, you can always trim them down since they are not required for the assembly to stay together.

After you have completely assembled your porch and done all of the touch ups on it, you can install the porch floor foundation. While your doing that, you might want to go ahead and add glue to all of the slots under the dollhouse. Reinforce all of the joints with glue as well.

I am missing the left side porch foundation piece and I am not sure how that happened. Looking at the schematics, I get the feeling that this was another part that was never cut into the sheet because it is located inside a window scrap. Well, I will have to make my own later on.

I went ahead and installed all of the windows except for the round attic window. Because of the mullions, these windows will not allow any access into the dollhouse so it will be much easier to finish them now, without the roof installed, than later.

Start with the sills. You will have to tap them into place with a mallet but be very careful. The mullions on the windows are very delicate so you just want to tap the sills into place, very lightly, if they don't go in by hand pressure.

Then you can install the exterior window trim and finally the bottom sill trim.

Touch up all the paint on your windows now, before the interior trim with the panes go on.
