I successfully completed the bay installation despite numerous challenges. Installing this particular bay was unexpectedly complex due to its large porch roof, which differed significantly from typical smaller bay roof designs. The extensive roof spanning the dollhouse's front made precise installation particularly tricky. Aligning the bay's three individual pieces proved difficult, especially when trying to connect finished parts with their corresponding tabs and slots.
To reinforce the walls, I added dowels between each section, which initially seemed like a good solution. However, this approach created an unforeseen problem with the exterior window sill. The dowels prevented the one-piece sill from fitting properly. Unable to remove the now-dried dowels without risking significant damage, I was forced to cut the sill into multiple sections and use spackle to reconstruct its shape. The entire process was time-consuming, requiring careful molding and extensive drying time.
Dollhouse assembly demands meticulous planning and creativity, as mistakes are inevitable but can be remedied with patience and innovative problem-solving. Despite the complications, I'm satisfied that I managed to complete the bay and maintain its intended appearance. My next task is to finish the front door before installing the porch.
