The Beacon Hill Dollhouse Day 19

While assembling The Beacon Hill Dollhouse, I noticed two corner areas that lacked trim. The original kit did not provide enough material to cover these less visible spots. Rather than purchase expensive foam core for such a small project, I creatively used cardboard instead. I made a paper template based on existing trim pieces, then carefully cut and painted the cardboard to match. The result blended seamlessly, appearing just like wood trim.

For the crown moulding, I discovered an affordable technique using fabric trim. These decorative ribbons, available at fabric stores in various sizes and designs, can be easily cut and shaped to fit any architectural detail. When painted, they convincingly mimic expensive wooden miniature crown moulding. In this particular dollhouse, I left the fabric trim unpainted.

Are you ready to take the challenge and build a Beacon Hill Dollhouse for yourself? Regardless of the outcome, make sure you have fun doing it.
