The Quarter Scale Arthur Dollhouse Day 3

I glued skinny sticks to the back edges of the first and second floors, as well as to the back edges of the partition walls.

I attached all the windows on the top floor in the same way as those on the bottom. For any missing interior trim, I created pieces from thin cardboard, just like on the first floor.

I sealed the floors with a light coat of gloss varnish. Be careful not to use too much, as it can cause the paper to wrinkle, but it will flatten out once dry.

I painted the interior of the back roof and glued it in place, leaving a slight ridge line at the top for future roof trim. I glued on the porch and clamped it at the sides to hold it securely. I hot glued all the shingles on the main front and back roofs. The top row of shingles is different; I used a strip with spiky tips for decoration. I cut a strip of shingles that can be folded in half to create roof trim and painted it before attaching it to the top edge of the roof.

After painting the underside of the porch roof, I glued it on and added shingles. I shingled the gable roof parts and wallpapered their undersides before attaching them to the main roof, which made it much easier. After gluing them in place, I added roof trim to their tops as well. I attached porch trim to the front and sides. You may need to trim the sides slightly at the top angle for a proper fit. Remember to paint both the front and back sides, as they will be visible from angles and through the windows.

I glued on gable gingerbread trim and wished there were more pieces available. I considered making another piece from cardboard for the sides, but it seemed too difficult given its size. Now that most of the work is done, I need to wait for all the glue to dry before doing touch-ups. Once dry, I applied spackle to fill gaps in the porch gable roof gingerbread trim and where the porch floor meets the trim. I then did paint touch-ups with a fine brush and finished applying skinny sticks to the backs of the upstairs partition edges.

I was not happy with the color of the interior door; it looked too dark compared to the floor. To fix this, I glued a piece of printed wood floor over it with the grain going vertically. I also added a small step under the door using a leftover piece from another dollhouse that matched well in color.
