The Beacon Hill Dollhouse Revisited Week 28

Finishing the Tower Room

I need to return to the tower room to complete its interior. It's easier to finish the entire room away from the dollhouse, which is why I haven't glued it in place yet. I prepared the room by priming all the walls and ceiling with white paint, just like I did with the rest of the dollhouse, before applying wallpaper and ceiling paper.

While the wallpaper and ceiling paper dried, I painted the floor base of the room with brown paint. Since I’m adding flooring, I needed to prime it in a color that matches the flooring I will use throughout the dollhouse. After that, I glued the room to its base. Handheld weights are effective for clamping the room in place, but make sure to secure them with masking tape to prevent them from rolling off while you work. This could damage your dollhouse or cause injury. Next, I added the flooring and installed the ceiling and flooring trim.

Keep in Mind

I used sandpaper in the extra space behind the room to match the roofs. However, you could use that space creatively by creating a balcony or outdoor area for your dollhouse. Adding a widow's walk around it can make it look like a patio accessible from this tower room.
