Installing the First Floor Staircase
Installing a staircase requires patience and careful preparation. If your railings interfere with the installation, you might need to modify them. While following manufacturer instructions is ideal, sometimes minor adjustments are necessary. After installing the staircase, repairing cut railings is possible by carefully aligning the pieces. Using string to hold the sections in place helps ensure proper alignment during repair. Spackle can fill any gaps, and painting will complete the restoration.
When installing partition walls, small gaps are common. Glue can effectively seal these joints, and wallpaper will conceal and reinforce the connections. Once the glue dries, you can proceed with wallpapering and applying ceiling paper.
Important Considerations
Be prepared for potential wall and staircase damage during installation. Repairs are typically part of the process. For wallpaper patches, tacky glue is recommended as it dries smoothly and creates nearly invisible repairs, unlike wallpaper paste which can create noticeable bulges.
