Today, I assembled the foundation, walls, and main front roof of the dollhouse. The front wall consists of two sections, so it's important to fit the top and bottom parts together tightly for a smooth surface. The joint line, which is visible in the pictures, will be covered by the porch roof.
The main front roof also has two sections that meet in the center to form the left and right sides. I clamped these pieces tightly together and allowed the glue to dry.
As you build the outer walls, partitions, and main roof, I recommend assembling each part consecutively without letting the glue dry completely between steps. This approach will help you align everything properly before clamping and allowing it to dry. I used wood glue on all joints to ensure the dollhouse structure is sturdy. You may need to tap with a hammer to fit some tabs into place.
Although the instructions suggest adding trims to the windows and doors first, I advise against it. Doing so can create problems during the painting and wallpapering stages. It's best to leave all trim work until the end when there will be no obstacles.
At this stage of construction, you should pause to finish certain parts. Do not glue the back roof yet; save that for later as it will complicate wallpapering. Wait until the two sections of the main front roof are fully dry before attaching the front side gable roofs.
To make cutting easier, I suggest completing all wallpapering for the second floor now, before installing the roof panels. Be sure to mark everything clearly to avoid confusing wall sides with roof sides.
