The Rosedale Dollhouse Revisited Day 15

I finally finished shingling the dollhouse. I’m pleased that I didn’t have to use corner trim for the roof because I wanted the design to flow smoothly without interruptions from trim around the corners.

I painted the brackets white and added finials to the top roof, making sure to paint the finials before installation. I also painted the back edges of the attic roof to match the shingles. I chose not to add trim to these sides, as white would clash with the shingles, and I wanted to keep the natural look of the shingle sides, which only have a coat of varnish.

Additionally, I added interior window sill trim to all the windows. Although the house didn’t come with any, I felt it looked better with them, so I made my own using basswood strips.
