I completed the bay area in the kitchen by installing the flooring and ceiling components, which were necessary prerequisites for the overall kitchen flooring. After priming the bay walls, I set them aside to dry.
During the wallpapering process for the bathroom and kitchen, I initially encountered challenges with the wallpaper mucilage, which caused bubbling and improper adhesion. By switching to Yes Paste, I successfully re-applied the wallpaper. Removing the problematic wallpaper was straightforward, requiring only a wet rag and putty knife. Wallpaper adhesives can occasionally present difficulties depending on home humidity levels. It's crucial to address any wallpaper issues promptly, as problems that persist after 24 hours are likely permanent. Quick intervention is key before installing baseboards or ceiling trim.
For the ceiling treatments, I applied metallic scrapbook papers resembling tin ceilings in both the bathroom and kitchen. The kitchen ceiling featured a gold tone, while the bathroom had a silver finish. Craft store scrapbooking sections offer economical alternatives to traditional miniature tin ceiling papers. When applying ceiling papers, using a template is essential since the papers do not naturally patch well. I ensured complete ceiling coverage without seams and applied textured ceiling paper to the remaining rooms while the dollhouse was positioned upside down.
