Finishing Touches
I installed the window treatments in the dollhouse, choosing to make shades. Due to their unique measurements, I recommend creating custom window treatments for these dollhouses to ensure the best fit.
Making shades is simple. I cut them from textured scrapbook paper, using the dollhouse windows as a size guide. I added details and pulls with various ribbons. The bathroom shade was a gift from my mini friend Jean, who created the pull using jewelry fixings.
On the exterior, I added extra trim to the corners of the mansard roof. Layering different sizes of trim enhances the detail and depth of the dollhouse. I also placed wooden caps on the staircase railings and added a bed canopy in the children's room, which I made myself. Sometimes, you need to create your own miniatures because it's hard to find exactly what you want. While it's not my favorite task, I will do it if necessary.
Lastly, I completed the flower garden section of the rooftop garden. Now, this dollhouse is ready to be filled and displayed.
