Installation of Partitions #2 and #3
Installing the final two partitions is crucial for completing the foyer. 'Partition #2', forming the back wall of the kitchen and foyer, requires careful handling due to the dollhouse's rigidity. To ease installation, remove all but two tabs and use a mallet gently. Apply glue along the joints after placement.
'Partition #3' needs preparation before installation. Wallpaper the side facing the staircase beforehand, covering about half from the top. Stain the back of the staircase and ensure the staircase opening edges match the second floor and ceiling. Install 'Partition #3' using tacky glue. Place the dollhouse on its side and use weights to hold the partition flat while drying. Verify alignment before securing. Avoid using wood glue on joints for this wallpapered partition.
Once dry, prime the new partitions for wallpapering. This method, though more challenging, prevents damage to finishes that would occur if applied earlier.
